Kitty Kaya Cattery / Cat Hotel, a life long dream!
I have always had a dream to have a cat hotel; specialized accommodation for cats that takes into account their sensitivity and individuality, their need for privacy, and their love of warmth and comfort.
Kitty Kaya offers luxury accommodation for cats with every guest receiving individual and personal care and attention.
The cabanas have been carefully designed for maximum comfort. The brick and tile rooms have ceilings, polytherm insulation and waterproofing membrane so that the units remain cool in summer, warm in winter. The insulation and ceilings serve to reduce the noise of summer storms and hail on the roof. Each apartment has a scratching block, logs and tree branches on which the cats can exercise and play, padded igloos, nests, cushions and polar fleece blankets.
Hot water bottles are provided on cooler evenings and there is underfloor heating and the wall mounted heating panels on timers are switched on in the evenings through the cold winter months.
Each unit has its own private patio. In summer, shade cloth blinds are rolled out over the patios for protection in the summer heat and fans in each unit keep the kitties cool. The shade cloth is rolled back in winter and the sun streams onto the patio through the clear polycarbonate roof. There are trays of grass, logs to climb, cat nip ...... everything your cat could wish for! Each patio is separated from the next by clear plastic sheeting over the weld mesh in winter and 90% shade cloth in summer so that each apartment and its patio is completely self-contained and separate from the one next door and the cats cannot come into direct contact with each other.
We never put cats from differing families together. Only cats who normally live together are accommodated together.
The apartments face the main house from where we can watch our guests at all times from the bedrooms and living areas.
Because we are small, we can devote our time to Kitty Kaya's guests and pride ourselves on building friendly and trusting relationships with all our visitors.
Guests are allowed to take a walk and exercise along the enclosed security walk way, "Whisker Avenue” while we clean the rooms and patios daily. The adjoining Wendy house cat kitchen is also fully enclosed so that guests can take turns walking about Whisker Avenue and the "Kitchen Piazzo".
